<p>    Portable Cassette Players &#8211; For students who have written output difficulties to aid in note-taking and studying<br />
    Digital Recorders &#8211; 37 minute digital, tapeless recorder for note-taking, assignment tracking.<br />
    Large Screen Organizers/Dictionaries &#8211; Great for keeping track of assignments, test dates, school schedules, phone numbers and appointments.<br />
    Speaking Dictionary/Thesaurus &#8211; For students who would benefit from hearing as well as seeing the letters in difficult to spell words.<br />
    Spell Checkers &#8211; A must have aid for poor spellers at elementary, middle or high school<br />
    Talking Calculator &#8211; For students who would benefit from hearing as well as seeing the answers to their calculations.</p>
<p>Loan Policy</p>
<p>    The term of each loan  for books/videos is 1 month and assistive technology items will be for half a school year and/or on a semester basis.<br />
    A deposit of $50 will be required for each item loaned</p>
<p>       Other Resources</p>
<p>        Insight Developmental Learning &#8211; Vision Therapy can help remediate foundational<br />
        vision problems that impede learning.</p>

This program will benefit girls that are shy, withdrawn, are feeling &#8220;left out&#8221;, or have difficulties with socialization skills  They will, through crafts, games, team building, role playing, leadership, and communication learn to develop friendships, build self esteem and confidence, and establish effective communications skills.</p>

Program Ends:         Tuesday, June 16th </p>

<p>COMPUTER KEYBOARDING SKILLS &#8211;  This program will help your child develop keyboarding skills and also teach them about internet safety and etiquette, tools for storymaking, art, reserach, video, communicating, file management and much more.  Parents are invited to attend with the child if you wish at no cost.</p>

<p>SOCIAL CLUB FOR BOYS (Social Skills Development) This program for boys ages 6 to 11 years who need a little help developing good social skills.  Through creative drama, art exploration and role playing, children will gain new social skills that will help in their daily lives.  Activities include storytelling, role playing, fun art projects and physical activities.  Boys will gain life skills such as listening to instruction, taking turns, working independently, working with a team, reading body language and being supportive and respectful.</p>
<p>This program is suitable for all boys that are finding it hard to be comfortable in  a social environment.  It will help those that are shy, lonely, or those needing to learn how to form healthy relationships.</p>
<p>Date:   January 13th &#8211; June 16th</p>
<p>          Tuesdays</p>
<p>or        January 15th &#8211; June 18th</p>

<p>BOYS SOCIAL RECREATION CLUB &#8211; 11 &#8211; 15 years This program is aimed at youth who need a little assistance with their social skills and would like to be part of a social club.  The program focuses on developing healthy friendships in a fun, safe and supportive environment.  Activities such as drama exercises enable participants to learn more effective ways to resolve conflicts and engage in positive communication with their peers.  Also featured are leadership, cooperation and team building skills.</p>
<p>Date: January 15th to June 18th</p>
<p>         Thursdays</p>
<p>Time:  6:00-7:30 pm</p>
<p>Fees:   $375.00 (members)  $425.00 (non-members)  22 weeks </p>

<p>LISTENING AND LEARNING TUTORING PROGRAM &#8211; Effective listening is the foundation for successful communication in school, at home and in everyday life.  Children with underdeveloped listening skills need training and strategies to become active listeners.</p>
<p>With Better  Listening Auditory Training, your child will become and more responsible listener and pay active attention to what they hear in the classroom and at home.  This program will benefit children that may have trouble understanding, appear distracted, inattentive or forgetful, or may be easily overwhelmed by spoken language and become angry or frustrated.  For Ages 6-12.  6:30 time is for 10 years and up.</p>
<p>This program is not suitable for children with behaviour challenges. </p>
<p>Dates: January 12 &#8211; June 17th &#8211; 42 lessons</p>
<p>          Mondays and Wednesdays</p>
<p>Time:   4:00-5:00 pm or</p>
<p>           5:15-6:15 pm</p>
<p>           6:30-7:30 pm &#8211; 10 years and older </p>
